Dear John,
People have been fighting to stay warm in Texas. For some, that fight has cost their lives. And for those of us who managed to survive, it could cost thousands of dollars that already struggling families simply don’t have.
Utility bills here are skyrocketing because power companies have been allowed to lure people into predatory agreements where energy prices explode when demand goes up—like in this month’s historic winter disaster. This is just another of the endless evils pushed on Texans for the sake of fossil fuel profits.
We need help down here. Can you donate to support mutual aid groups who are doing work to help Texans through this crisis? [[link removed]]

Today, Sunrisers in Texas gathered outside the offices of Comstock Resources, one of the several companies profiting from the rising price of natural gas off of last week's winter storm disaster. Fossil fuel companies have the nerve to cause this problem in the first place—contributing to the pollution that’s sent our climate into a tailspin and prompted these weather disasters—and then expect to profit from their own havoc.
Your contribution can help support the Sunrise hubs fighting for justice and the mutual aid groups who are working with the most vulnerable people on the ground. Click here to give what you can. [[link removed]]
