Hi John , I’m sure you’ve seen the videos of Donald Trump, Jr. and Rep. Lauren Boebert (R-CO), where they filmed themselves standing in front of walls covered in firearms, including military-style assault weapons.
Any responsible gun owner knows that firearms don't belong on bookshelves, John. Guns should be stored safely and responsibly, especially if there are children around — locked, unloaded, and separate from ammunition. But this kind of recklessness modeled by public figures like Trump Jr. and Boebert is sending the wrong message and could endanger lives.
As a gun owner whose family has owned firearms for generations, John, I know that safe storage is an essential part of responsible gun ownership. My family knows that when we aren’t using them, our guns belong in the gun safe, and at Brady, we are committed to educating gun owners and spreading the life-saving message of safe storage: In short, we are committed to ending family fire.
But, we need your help to spread our message of safe storage and save lives. Will you sign our petition TODAY to demand an end to family fire? >> [[link removed]?]
Every day, eight kids are injured or killed due family fire , or a shooting involving an improperly stored or misused gun in the home. Unintentional shootings, suicide, and intentional shootings are all forms of family fire. And now more than ever, we need to commit to ending the tragedy that comes with improperly stored firearms.
More families than ever are isolated in their homes, and everyone’s mental health has been severely impacted. Even without the pandemic, we were losing an average of 63 Americans to gun suicide every day. That’s why we must be dedicated to storing every gun in the home locked, unloaded, and separate from ammunition – because it might protect our loved ones from the deadliest method of suicide.
John, please join us today and sign our petition TODAY to demand that we take the critical steps needed to end family fire. [[link removed]?]
