Dear Friend,
The time has come to reset and rebuild our immigration system and the good
news is that many legislators are getting to work. There is now some hope
on the horizon for creating a fair immigration process! This month
legislation is being introduced in Congress that will help heal our nation
and rebuild our immigration system into a fair and humane process for all
families.

legislation that respects children and parents. *When you click, you’ll

What’s happening? Several executive orders have already been signed by
President Biden [1] to help restore our country’s values and respect
people’s basic human rights but we also urgently need new legislation that
will help solidify protections for all regardless of immigration status.
Every legislative piece helps move us closer to transformative change but
we are going to need bipartisan support to deliver. That’s where you come
in! [ [link removed] ]We need your help reaching members of Congress to build support.
Members of Congress are introducing a critically important flurry of
legislation that will create a fair immigration process and protect
children and parents. This critical legislation includes:
* U.S. Citizenship Act
* Dream & Promise Act in the House
* Dream Act & SECURE Act in the Senate
* Farm Workforce Modernization Act
* Citizenship for Essential Workers Act
These bills collectively help support immigrant families and children.
They will help provide a pathway to citizenship for Dreamers, protect
immigrant workers that have upheld our nation through the COVID-19 crisis,
strengthen our economy, and offer stability to thousands of families who
have built their lives in the U.S. These legislative pieces also help to
eradicate racism within our own immigration system by adding protections
for families and Black immigrants who are more likely to be detained and
deported than other immigrants [2].

Congress to pass fair immigration legislation that protects immigrant
children and families! *When you click, you’ll automatically sign on if we

It is especially important as we continue to fight COVID-19 that we
protect immigrant workers particularly on the frontlines of this pandemic.
Immigrants make up nearly 23 million essential workers [3] on the
frontlines during COVID and 5.2 million of them are undocumented.
Immigrants can be found in every industry currently on the frontlines
against COVID, including health care, social services, grocery retail,
transportation, agriculture, manufacturing, scientific research, and the
postal service [ [link removed] ].

Members of Congress:
No matter where we come from, what our color is or how we worship, most
of us work hard for our families. Immigrants are such a vital part of
our essential workforce every day, as well as of our communities, and
this has become especially apparent during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Immigrants are putting their lives on the line to keep our health care
system and our economy going, and are essential not only to our
communities and families, but also to America’s recovery. Please
co-sponsor and pass the U.S. Citizenship Act to protect children and
families, as well as other critical immigration legislation such as the
Dream Act, the Dream and Promise Act, the Citizenship for Essential
Worker Act, and the Farm Workforce Modernization Act and the Secure Act.
Immigrants are essential to our country, communities and economy and
Americans know this. Roughly 75 percent of Americans believe all
immigrants should have a path to stay in the U.S. legally.
These bills would create a fair process that respects families, keeps
children with their parents, and would ultimately build a fair and
humane immigration system. Please ensure that this legislation is part
of a comprehensive recovery plan for COVID and passed as soon as
possible either as stand alone bills or as part of the next COVID relief
package.
