Dear Friend,
I hope this letter finds you and your family well.
The other day I called a friend of mine and got his voicemail. “Sorry I missed you,” it said, “It’s a great day to wake up in America.”
After the turmoil and trauma of this past year and what we’re still facing, sometimes it’s hard to believe that. But it’s true. We have a great country—if we can keep it.
I don’t have to tell you how volatile politics has become. Two month ago, the Chairwoman of the Nebraska Democratic Party said this: “The race in 2022 has already begun.” So much for unity.
My job is to go to Washington, represent you well, stand on reasoned principle, and find common ground when possible. But given comments like those, we can’t wait. America can’t wait. Restoring what we believe begins now.
People often ask: “How can I help?” Here’s how. Help us rebuild. Help us continue our drive. Help us hold off the viciousness of attacks by those who demand that you submit to their brand of politics.
Can you consider a gift of $50, $100, or $250, or whatever you can afford, to help right now?
