Republicans are already bragging about trying to use gerrymandering to take back the House in 2022.
State legislators in red states are creating lists of Democrats they believe they can wipe out through redistricting, and the NRCC is openly celebrating gerrymandering as a legitimate strategy.
And because of the delays at the Census Bureau, the redistricting process is going to be even more chaotic this year.
Experts are warning that there may not be enough time to advocate and mobilize for fair maps if the GOP takes advantage of the shortened timeline between this data being released and the 2022 elections.
