“Thousands of US veterans deported to Mexico, some of whom have been forcibly recruited by cartels, [wrote a letter asking] the Biden administration to let them ‘back into their country,'” according to Business Insider.
Under the Trump administration, the amount of deportations escalated dramatically, and thousands of veterans were forced to live in exile away from the country they served.
Now, our Democratic leadership is working to put an end to all unjust deportations. President Joe Biden has already stated that he is committed to helping deported veterans. Reps. Mark Takano, Juan Vargas, and Raúl M. Grijalva introduced a bill to prevent veterans from being deported.
Listen, Donald Trump may be out of office, but his GOP cronies are still trying hard to stop us from dismantling his cruel deportation regime.
