<[link removed]>Let's Celebrate Blackness & Fight for Black Communities.Dear Friend,

It’s Monica, Federal Policy Manager at URGE: Unite for Reproductive & Gender Equity <urge.org>, and I am here to tell you that Blackness is beautiful and lit!

Throughoutthis country’shistory,Black peoplehaveenduredwhite supremacy, violence, andoppressionat every levelof society. Butweare more thanour oppression. We are more than thetropes of“strong Black women”or perseverancethrough generationaltrauma. We areworking to build a future in which we canthriveand our Blacknessshould be celebrated!

As Black History Month comes to an end, I want to remind you that we need everyone to fight for a world where Reproductive Justice and Black liberation is a reality.  <#>

Developedby Black women, Reproductive Justice is a human rights frameworkthatenvisionsa worldin whicheveryonecanlive and love freely, have children, nothavechildren, andthrive insafe and sustainable communities <[link removed]>.If thelast year has made anything clear,it'sthat we have a long way to go before we are truly able toachieve that vision.

As a Black, queer woman, I know what it means to have my trauma, pain, and very existence dismissed. ButI won’t stop fighting, and neither should you, Friend. Give to URGE today to fund the young people's fight for Reproductive Justice. <[link removed]>

The pandemic hasimpairedaccess to education, worsenedintimate partner violence, and hasintensifiedpolicingand economicinjustice, withBlack communitiesexperiencingthese terrible impacts the most. But it shouldn’tbe that way. Our communities deserve toflourish.Let'send this Black History Monthby demanding those in power work to bringrealsystemic change for our communities. <[link removed]>

Our collective liberation depends on it.

In Solidarity,
