Team,

Last week I was proud to help re-introduce the Equality Act in the 117th Congress, a bill that extends federal civil rights protections to LGBTQ Americans and outlaws discrimination of any kind on the basis of sexual orientation. Today I joined my colleagues in voting for the legislation once again, and I couldn't be happier to see it pass the House.

As New Hampshire's first openly gay representative, this fight is deeply personal to me. LGBTQ Americans can face legal discrimination in nearly every facet of life, from employment and education to housing opportunities. The Equality Act will steer our nation closer toward equality by prohibiting discrimination on the basis of sexual orientation and gender identity at the federal level. Now it's time for the Senate to take up the Equality Act.

Passing this legislation to protect millions of Americans must be a priority for our Democratic Senate. Will you add your name next to mine today to demand the Senate do their part and bring the Equality Act to a vote?

I was proud to be a co-sponsor of the Equality Act in 2019 when the House passed the legislation with a bipartisan majority, but former Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell blocked the bill at every turn in the Senate. Now with a Democratic Senate majority, we have a chance to pass this landmark legislation.

If you're with me in this fight, add your name to call on the Senate to bring the Equality Act to a vote.
