Friend,
Yesterday, a two-day Senate confirmation hearing concluded for Rep. Deb Haaland, the first Indigenous person ever poised to lead the Interior Department.
As predicted, some Republican senators were hostile toward her nomination, despite her clear qualifications for the role. These senators take millions of dollars annually from the oil and gas industry -- it’s no surprise that they’re desperately trying to tank Rep. Haaland's nomination.
Will you help us spread the word about Big Oil and Gas’ attacks on Secretary Nominee Haaland by sharing our tweet?

After four years of an Interior Department that was in the pocket of Big Oil and Gas -- and TWO corrupt secretaries with close ties to the industry -- Rep. Haaland's nomination is a breath of fresh air (literally, if you live next to an extraction site!).
As a 35th-generation Indigenous American and a New Mexican, she is uniquely qualified to protect our public lands and balance the needs of communities with business interests. On top of that, the United States has never had an Indigenous Cabinet member.
Republican senators' attempts to derail Rep. Haaland's nomination at the behest of their fossil fuel industry backers is politics at its worst. The Senate must act quickly to confirm her as Interior secretary. Share our tweet to help correct the record.
Thanks,
Energy and Environment Team
