USPS Delivery Vehicle Fleet Decision Squanders True Next-Gen Opportunity ([link removed] )

AEE reacted to the U.S. Postal Service's decision to procure internal combustion engine rather than all electric vehicles. "The decision by USPS to start off its next-generation delivery vehicles with last-generation technology is a missed opportunity," said Leah Rubin Shen, federal policy director at AEE. Maryland’s Montgomery County Public Schools to Procure Largest Electric Bus Fleet in Nation with Budget-Neutral Contract ([link removed] )

AEE applauded the news that Maryland’s Montgomery County Public Schools board approved a 1,400 electric school bus fleet contract, the largest in the nation by a municipality, awarding the contract to AEE member company Highland Electric Transportation, which will deliver, own, and charge the buses. “This is the first step toward meeting President Biden’s pledge to electrify all 500,000 school buses across the nation over the next decade,” said AEE CEO Nat Kreamer.
