Women's March

This is it, John. Tomorrow, the U.S. House is expected to vote on the Biden-Harris administration’s COVID relief package, the American Rescue Plan.

We need to make sure that this bill includes a full slate of solutions that addresses the crises our country faces. Right now, the American Rescue plan includes motions to:

→ Increase the national minimum wage to $15
→ Distribute another round of $1,400 direct cash payments
→ Expand access to affordable child care, rent relief, and food assistance

Here’s the problem: Republicans are fighting to strip this bill and remove motions like increasing the national minimum wage to $15.

It’s going to take a massive show of grassroots support to stop Republicans from dismantling the American Rescue Plan and make sure we provide urgently needed relief for women and families. Please add your name now to tell members of Congress that it’s critical they pass the American Rescue Plan and protect motions like increasing the minimum wage in this bill.

For almost a year now, women have been demanding a meaningful COVID relief response that matches the scale of crisis we’re currently facing and will have a real impact on our families.

We’ve fought too hard, for too long, for Congress to fall short on delivering urgently needed relief for our country.

That’s why it’s critical we make sure a majority of Congress supports our fight for a transformative relief package that includes motions like increasing the minimum wage and expanding child care access. These kinds of actions will have the MOST impact on essential workers and those who have been left most vulnerable in this pandemic.

We know that essential workers, so many of which are women, are the lifeblood of our economy and our country. They’re feeding our families, taking care of our sick loved ones, delivering medical supplies, running our public transit, preparing the medication we need, cleaning our hospitals, stocking our groceries, and making sure our communities continue to function. They are disproportionately women — particularly women of color. Many are underpaid despite the deathly risks they are taking; some have even been fired after asking for basic protections.

That’s why passing this bill is our top priority, John. Will you show your support for the American Rescue Plan and tell Congress it’s critical we don’t make any reductions to this relief package?

Together,
Women’s March
