Dear John,
Big news! Now that President Biden has repealed the Muslim ban, we have a shot at making sure no such discriminatory policy is ever put in place again. Today the NO BAN Act was reintroduced in Congress, which is intended to do just that.
Within weeks, it can pass the House and move to the Senate—but we need a major push to pass this legislation.
We've worked closely with Rep. Judy Chu, key Congressional leaders, and community and civil rights groups to craft the NO BAN Act. It would ensure that no President will ever again have the authority to ban individuals from visiting the U.S. on the basis of religion and national origin.
Trump may be out of the White House, but Trumpism and white nationalism are still strong currents in American politics. That’s why we can’t assume that the ban is gone for good— we have to act to ensure our community and all other impacted communities are never targeted in this way again.
🚨 Take action! Urge your legislators to cosponsor and vote to pass the NO BAN Act >
With your help, we passed the NO BAN Act out of the House of Representatives last year. But with a new Congress in place, we are once again starting over. Fortunately, over 100 Representatives have already cosponsored the NO BAN Act and are moving it toward passage. Now is the time to build momentum to ensure that it gets through the House and Senate and is sent to President Biden for his signature.
Take action today! There is a narrow window to win this fight once and for all. Join us today and let's make sure that Congress helps President Biden defeat this ban once and for all.
Best,
