Essential Workers have always been there for us, but even more so in the year since the COVID-19 pandemic started. In every city, state, town, and community, Essential Workers have put everything on the line to keep our country going. From those working in hospitals and clinics, to grocery stores, factories, warehouses, farms, and so many more workplaces, Essential Workers have risked—and in far too many cases—given it all. They've put their health and lives on the line and now it's time for President Biden and his administration to prioritize the health and livelihoods of Essential Workers.

Since the pandemic started in February 2020, more than half a million lives have been lost to COVID-19 in the United States alone. That includes so many Essential Workers, who risk their health and safety every time they go to work. President Biden and his administration have taken critical steps to provide greater federal support and coordination to combat the pandemic, but we can and must do better.

Ensuring Essential Workers have priority access—based on risk assessment—to COVID-19 vaccines is something we can do right now and it needs to happen without delay. Today, Essential Workers joined together for a press conference to call on the administration to do exactly this. Join those Essential Workers and let's make this happen.

Tell President Biden to protect Essential Workers and make sure they have the protections they need to remain safe on the job!

Together with the national Always Essential campaign, we are calling on President Biden to do the following:

• Use all available federal powers to prioritize vaccines for Essential Workers, ensure Essential Workers can access the vaccine, and encourage uniformity in vaccine distribution efforts;
• Ensure that the Defense Production Act is being use to its fullest extent possible to produce COVID-19 vaccines;
• Robustly protect Essential Workers seeking a vaccine, or blowing the whistle on companies obstructing their access to the vaccine from retaliation, or seeking to enforce other COVID-19-related protections to workers to enforce their rights;
• Ensure worker engagement and representation on the COVID-19 Response Team and other decision-making bodies where rules, guidance, and laws are being made about access to the vaccine.
