"Georgia Republicans File Sweeping Elections Bill That Limits Early, Absentee Voting" -- Georgia Public Broadcasting

Friend --

Democracy advocates like Eric Holder, Stacey Abrams, and others have been sounding the alarm about the true motivation behind the lie that the 2020 election was stolen. For the most part, Republican politicians know that the election wasn't rigged -- this lie is simply an excuse to implement onerous restrictions on voting.

Here at the NDRC, we've been working to combat GOP efforts to manipulate elections through gerrymandering and voter suppression for years. But even we we're shocked at just how brazen the latest voter suppression attempts out of Georgia are.

Ari Berman tweet: Georgia House Republicans just introduced a bill to ban early voting on Sundays prior to election, when Black churches do Souls to the Polls get out the vote drives
Georgia Republicans are so furious that Black and brown voters delivered Georgia for President Biden, Senator Reverend Raphael Warnock, and Senator Jon Ossoff that now they want to eliminate Souls to the Polls entirely. This is a direct attack on the voting power of Black and brown communities in Georgia.

The NDRC is committed to ending the tactics Republicans use to maintain minority rule, like gerrymandering and voter suppression. That's why we support the John Lewis Voting Rights Act and the For the People Act to expand voting rights and ban partisan gerrymandering at the federal level. Will you chip in today to support our efforts to secure fair elections across the country?
