We’re not wasting any time.
Defeating Keystone XL and joining the Paris Climate Agreement (again) were significant victories, but there’s another major tar sands pipeline underway – and President Biden has the power to halt construction immediately.
The Line 3 pipeline in northern Minnesota violates Indigenous rights and would carry the pollution equivalent to 50 coal power plants.
We must stop this pipeline — but we’re running out of time. The bulldozers and pipes have arrived. The good news is that we have a clear path to win:
Joe Biden can revoke the water permits granted by Trump, but he’ll only act if we generate enough public pressure. That’s why we’ve joined with MN350, Honor the Earth, and dozens of other groups to deliver thousands of petitions calling on Biden to stop Line 3.
Will you sign the national petition right now calling on President Biden to #StopLine 3 immediately and invoke a climate test for all fossil fuel projects?

This will be the first major climate test for President Biden, and if he means what he says about taking bold climate action, this project must be stopped.
Indigenous water protectors and allies in Minnesota have been fighting this project for years. But now the bulldozers have arrived to plow through sacred wild rice watersheds, over 800 wetlands, and 200+ bodies of water in Ojibwe treaty territory.
Each week, Indigenous water protectors are taking peaceful direct action to protect their land. But the drones are overhead and the police are militarized. We need national pressure now.
In order to get Biden’s attention, we need thousands of signatures, but that’s not all. As we saw with the fights against Keystone XL and Dakota Access, it will take deep organizing and all of us supporting the frontline resistance on the ground with supplies, bail money, online amplification, and more.
Please take the first step and add your name to the national petition calling on Joe Biden to stop Line 3 immediately.
Every signature will be personally delivered to the Biden Administration, and we’ll share our number of signatures with the press to show our momentum.
Climate science and treaty rights clearly show that this pipeline would harm sacred sites and push our climate further into crisis. It must be stopped.
We know what it takes to win, and we won’t give up until we do.
In solidarity,
LeftNet
