State House Minority Leader Emily Virgin joined ODP Executive Director Scott Hamilton on the Hamilton Report this week. Leader Virgin announced the legislative priorities for the 2021 legislative session. Please consider making a generous donation to help us achieve these and other important Democratic goals. The priorities of the Democratic caucus are our policy priorities, so I wanted to make sure you saw this:

1. Jobs & The Economy Increase the minimum wage. Restore the Earned Income Tax Credit. End predatory lending practices and institute tax equity.
2. Education Keep public dollars in public schools. Recruit and retain great teachers for every classroom. Increase charter oversight.
3. Criminal Justice Reform End debtors' prisons and create a justice system that focuses on rehabilitation. Stop dangerous policing practices and end the cash bail system. Reform mandatory minimum sentences.
4. Healthcare for All Create a nurse retention program. Eliminate Oklahoma's food deserts. Increase funding for mental health, substance use prevention, and treatment services.
The Oklahoma Democratic Party is making smart, long-term investments to achieve these goals.Signing up for monthly donations of $5, $10, $25, or $50 is an incredibly helpful way to support our long-term budgets and plans for sustained efforts. Our state party is in great organizational shape, but signing up to become a monthly donor or making a generous one-time donation will ensure we continue to improve our ability to elect more Democrats.
We're working every day to help make sure these policies remain at the forefront of Oklahoma's government. I can't thank you enough for your continued support.
Let's stay focused and get to work!
