Our campaign has always been about meeting the immediate needs of our community just as much as it's about creating structural change. From opening a COVID-19 vaccine clinic in our district in Yonkers to raising more than $13,000 for food banks and relief organizations in Texas, there's so much to be proud of.
However, all this work does mean that we haven't been able to focus as much time as we normally would have towards our usual campaign activities — especially when it comes to fundraising.
Our priorities were rightfully in other places, but with our end-of-month budget assessment coming up, we have a bit of ground to make up.
As it stands, we need a big end-of-month fundraising surge to make sure we don't fall too far behind; compared to where we were in January, we're seeing a 16% decrease in contributions.
Since our campaign is powered by grassroots donors that give $5 or $10 at a time, every single contribution makes a significant impact towards our mission of meeting the immediate needs of our community and putting out big, bold policy for structural change.
