I knew when I made the decision to reject corporate PAC money that it would make my campaign to represent Georgia in the U.S. Senate more difficult.

Ever since the Supreme Court ruled in Citizens United, our elections have become exceedingly expensive. PACs and dark money groups can spend tens of millions of dollars to prop up politicians like my opponent, Sen. David Perdue.
But everyday people don’t have corporate PACs to get their voices heard in our democracy. Our teachers, retired nurses, veterans, and working moms can’t spend millions to compete with these PACs. This is a democracy that should reflect the will of the people, not the PACs.

That’s why I’m proud to run a campaign that is powered by everyday people, giving as little as $3, so we can stand up to the Super PACs and McConnell-linked dark money groups my opponent relies on.

To stay competitive, however, we have to hit our fundraising goals on time. And we’re in danger of falling short at tomorrow’s FEC deadline. That’s why I’m humbly asking if you can make a donation, today to get us back on track. [[link removed]]

Tomorrow I’m up against my biggest fundraising goal to date: The end of our FEC reporting period. It’s our first one since Mitch McConnell went on the offensive against us and the first since Georgia’s second Senate seat came into play.
This is our opportunity to show everyone the strength of our campaign. To prove we have what it takes to stand up to McConnell and win this race.

To prove that candidates who reject corporate PAC money can stay competitive in costly battleground races like ours.
And to prove that this democracy belongs to us. Our race won’t be decided by McConnell or Super PACs – but by everyday people taking action to make a difference and restore our democracy.

If you’re with me in this fight, then I’m asking if you will rush in a donation so we can get back on track ahead of our largest fundraising goal to date. [[link removed]]

Yours truly,

Teresa
