** Dear Fellow Patriot,

Tomorrow, February 25, the U.S. House of Representatives will vote ([link removed]) on U.S. HR 5 (2021 ([link removed]) ), or the U.S. Equality Act, ([link removed]) which would amend the U.S. Civil Rights Act to include sexual orientation and gender identity (SOGI).

This bill, which is described as an "explicit and comprehensive national solution ... to address ... discrimination," does far more than simply codify the equal status of LGBTQ+ individuals.

Here's what else it does, drawn directly from the text of the bill:
* Requires “any establishment that provides a good, service, or program,” including, but not limited to, “service or care center, shelter, … or establishment that provides health care" to serve all individuals regardless of SOGI. This could include women's shelters being required to grant access to men, or private religious medical providers ([link removed]) , clinics, or hospitals being required to perform hormone therapy or surgery for "sex reassignment."
* "With respect to gender identity, an individual shall not be denied access to a shared facility, including a restroom, a locker room, and a dressing room.”
* "Pregnancy ... or a related medical condition shall not receive less favorable treatment than other physical conditions”—making medical procedures on pregnant women, including abortions, equal to all other medical operations.
* Identifies “child-placing agencies [that] refuse to serve same-sex couples and LGBTQ individuals,” including religious adoption and foster care agencies, as discriminatory.

Other possible ramifications if this legislation were to pass:
* Limit religious freedom by requiring religious buildings, institutions, and individuals to use their facilities in ways that violate their conscience, and preventing them from regulating clergy behavior based on views of sexuality and marriage. May also require religious institutions to change policies, practices, and instruction that reflects religious beliefs on human sexuality.
* Erode parents' rights to regulate the medical treatment or transition of their children.
* May lead to mandatory gender/sexual orientation education in schools that receive public funding, including for young children.
* Undermine women's success in sports, private business, and other endeavors.
* Make "transition" medical treatment or operations standard medical care for minors.

We realize there's not much time for you to act, but we urge you to contact your federal representatives ([link removed]) and ask them to oppose U.S. HR 5. Our children and our liberty may depend on it.
