DAILY ALERT FOR Wednesday, February 24, 2021 |
|
| | COVID-19 and uncivil disorder have illustrated that in times of crisis or uncertainty, Americans buy guns. Last year, as concerned citizens across the country lined up outside gun stores to exercise their constitutional right to purchase and own firearms, state and local officials – including those in a number of Texas cities and counties – refused to designate firearms retailers as “essential businesses” and shut them down. |
| | February 19th was the bill filing deadline for the California State Legislature. A few more bills to place restrictions on your already diminished rights, as well as one to protect your rights, have been filed. |
| | Gun control activists who are looking for bold, decisive action from the Biden administration have been disappointed so far in the president’s lack of policy on the issue. But Biden is about to change that with a flurry of executive orders targeting law-abiding citizens who choose to own a gun. |
| | Last night, the House Consumer & Public Affairs Committee defeated House Bill 279 on a party-line vote. |
| | Yesterday, Senate Bill 5038 was pulled from the Senate Rules Committee and sent to the Senate Floor where it can be heard at any time. |
| | Today, the North Dakota House unanimously approved concealed permit enhancement legislation, House Bill 1450. |
| | Today, the Arkansas House marked the final vote on Stand Your ground Legislation, Senate Bill 24. |
| | This week, the House is expected to vote on pro-firearm related legislation. |
