Mere weeks after the violent attack on our lawmakers in Washington, D.C., left five people dead, the NRA's Twitter feed is rampant with fearmongering and calls for their base to take up arms against President Biden.
If the NRA really cared about gun owners and their rights, they would agree with the majority of them: Our country needs common-sense gun violence prevention legislation. But instead, they are stoking baseless fears and outright threatening the President.
John, for too long the NRA has purported to represent the American gun owner – when in reality they only care about their bottom line. In fact, just last week, the NRA revealed that its assets included expensive statues and paintings, a luxury car for their treasurer, and payments to a private jet company. Jim Brady called the NRA "the Evil Empire" for a reason: The NRA has looted and victimized its donor base by misusing their money for personal gain and luxury.
We’re working directly with the Biden-Harris administration to inform gun violence prevention policy and take immediate action to tackle our gun violence epidemic. Because we want to create a safer country for all Americans — including gun owners and non-gun owners alike — we need to end the NRA’s Evil Empire once and for all.
