Hello folks,
In Storm Uri’s aftermath, millions of Texans are still experiencing food insecurity and do not have reliable water.
When the storm hit, power outages and freezing temperatures disrupted the food chain supply, leaving many families without food or groceries for days.
Feeding Texas is one of the leading organizations on the ground distributing food and resources to families impacted most by the storm and they need grassroots support to help.
If you can, please contribute $10 or any amount to Feeding Texas to help feed Texans in need. For every $1 donated, food banks can distribute 10 meals.
With a network of 21 food banks, Feeding Texas serves nearly 75 million pounds of food to families all across Texas annually.
I was born in El Paso, so this one hits close to home. El Paso’s officials deserve praise for having the vision to prepare for the crisis with alternative energy sources.
That’s why organizations like Feeding Texas are crucial because they provide these services year-round and work day and night to end hunger. But they cannot do it alone:
If you’re able, please contribute $10 or any amount to Feeding Texas to help feed Texans in need.
In times of crisis, solidarity can bring us closer together and lift those left behind, and I am in awe of the community support we’ve seen over the last week.
Thank you for chipping in.
In solidarity,
Barbara Lee
