Hi John,

I wanted to check in with you about one of my newest roles in Congress.

My colleagues unanimously elected me to serve as the vice chair of the Committee on House Administration. Along with several other members, I'll be responsible for managing House operations, providing oversight on campaign finance and election reform, as well as monitoring a number of federal institutions from the Library of Congress to United States Capitol Police.

For the past 30 years, I have focused my legal career and volunteer work on election law and civics -- and I'm looking forward to using my skills to protect our democracy and our institutions while ensuring our government is accountable to the people.

Yesterday I asked my team to prepare a survey to collect your thoughts on my new role and hear from you about what government accountability looks like to you.

Will you take our brief survey now? Here's the link: [link removed]

I'm looking forward to reading your replies.

More soon,
Mary Gay
