Let’s rewind a couple of months: After Joe Biden and Kamala Harris won the 2020 Presidential Election, Ted Cruz led efforts in the Senate to overturn the results and peddled conspiracy theories about a stolen election.
Ted Cruz’s twisted political games were no joke. On January 6, a violent mob of white-supremacist insurrectionists took over the Capitol, prepared to kidnap and kill members of Congress over false claims of election fraud. From that moment on, we knew that Ted Cruz had no place in the Senate. We supported Rep. Cori Bush’s legislation to expel all seditionists from Congress, and thousands of folks across the country called for his resignation:
But it gets even worse, John. When millions of Texans lost heat, water, and electricity in their homes due to a catastrophic winter storm — Cruz went on vacation to Cancún… in the middle of a pandemic.
It's almost incomprehensible that a state's own U.S. Senator would completely abandon his constituents in this time of extreme crisis. Cruz has failed us too many times, and now it’s time to face the consequences for his betrayal.
