Meet Ebony Murphy-Root: a teacher, writer, and reproductive freedom activist who has been involved with NARAL for years in Connecticut and California.

In 2020, Ebony joined NARAL Pro-Choice California, where she has advocated in the state Legislature to expand access to reproductive healthcare. She also joined the Board of NARAL Pro-Choice California PrivacyPAC, where she helps lead the charge to elect diverse champions for reproductive freedom.

Volunteer leaders like Ebony are at the heart of everything we do — they make our work combating anti-choice extremists across the country possible. Thanks to their leadership, in 2020 we beat an anti-choice ballot initiative in Colorado, elected two pro-choice senators in Georgia, and took back the White House.
