GOP Sen. David Perdue has filed paperwork that puts him one step closer to challenging newly-elected Sen. Raphael Warnock.
Together with organizers and leaders like Stacey Abrams, we managed to unseat David Perdue and Kelly Loeffler in January. We helped elect the first Black and Jewish senators to represent Georgia. And we showed the GOP that their attempts to suppress voters of color will not be unmet.
But Republicans are still determined to keep suppressing voters and silencing the American people. When House Democrats revived their voter protection bill just a few weeks ago, Fox News decried such voter empowerment efforts as “fraud.”
Perdue and the rest of the GOP might think they can quietly piece together their plans to unseat Sen. Warnock and tear down the work of voting rights activists like Stacey Abrams. They think we're not going to notice.
We absolutely noticed. And we're not going to let them get away with this.
At ASPIRE, our team has worked tirelessly to support diverse Democratic leaders and fight for policies that benefit our communities across the country -- including policies that combat voter suppression.
We've been able to do all of this because of your help. But as attention turns away from Georgia and the still-present problem of rampant voter suppression, we're running out of funds to keep up our work advocating for voter empowerment.
