Team,
We’ve emailed you a lot lately so I wanted to make sure I took today to close the loop and keep you up to date on everything.
First,
thank you for making my birthday so special! WisDems supporters from across the country signed a birthday card and sent me messages. It showed me the joy and compassion of our national movement. It also showed me our power—from coast to coast. I was truly touched.
The work we do would be nothing with grassroots supporters like you, and I’m excited to keep building our team and scaling the impact of our work. The stakes are as high as they’ve ever been. We have a crucial Superintendent of Public Instruction race coming up on April 6. It will be the first statewide election of the Biden era, and our first real test.
Mobilizing enough voters to win this election will put us on track to re-elect Governor Tony Evers and defeat Ron Johnson next year, whose Senate seat is up in 2022. And defeating Ron Johnson will be key to Dems keeping our Senate majority. It’s all a domino effect, and it’s starting right now.
That’s why, secondly, I’m ecstatic to share a picture of the
*BRAND NEW* Grassroots Donors Wall now hanging in my home office. Take a look:
On this wall is the name of every monthly donor that supports the work of the WisDems, and it’s already so large that I’ve had to move some maps around and re-arrange my office:
Everytime I look at this Grassroots Donor Wall, it reminds me of the people-powered movement that fuels our work and how much hinges on our collective wins and successes.
Last November, Wisconsin was the state that ultimately tipped the electoral college to President Joe Biden. The White House understands this. It’s one of the reasons why President Biden was in Wisconsin last week.
Wisconsin will continue to play a decisive role in American democracy, and I’m filled with hope because of all your support. As I embark upon this next decade of my life—I recently turned 40!—I have a deep conviction that, together, we can win.
Thanks for all you do,
Ben Wikler
Chair, WisDems
P.S. Want your name on the donor wall? It’s not too late to click here and become a monthly WisDems donor. I’ll be updating the Grassroots Donor Wall throughout the year with the names of new monthly donors!
