John -

In 2016, I set out to protect the interests of the working families that built this country. And in the years since, with your help, I've done just that.

Representing Nevada in Washington as the first Latina senator - and first woman from Nevada elected to the Senate - has been one of the greatest honors of my life. I have fought to repair our broken immigration system and protect affordable health care for every American. And when Mitch McConnell's GOP were so close to repealing the Affordable Care Act, my vote against was critical in protecting it.

In the 2020 election cycle, I served as the chair of the Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee, leading the Senate Democrats' campaign arm and strategy to take back the Senate. And it was because of grassroots powerhouses like this one that we flipped the Senate for Democrats for the first time since 2006, making way for the progress our families need and deserve. Making the way for the Biden administration to build back better. And now, making the way to take bold action to address this pandemic in a meaningful way; getting American families and small businesses relief - and finally getting our economy on the road to recovery.

But the fight continues. We have the slimmest majority possible - and to address the challenges Nevada families face, we must protect that majority - and that means defending Nevada's vulnerable Senate seat. All Mitch McConnell needs to do is flip one seat to re-assert his stranglehold over the Senate again. That's why we need to protect every single democratic Senate seat, including ours here in Nevada.

So today, I'm reaching out to let you know that I'm launching my 2022 reelection campaign.

I've dedicated my career to public service - first as a criminal prosecutor and then as Nevada's attorney general. In working with the law, I often encountered situations where I felt called to use my platform to bring awareness to issues like domestic violence, sex trafficking, substance abuse and other key issues in my community. Much of my life's work has been focusing on ensuring victims have the resources they need to heal and recover - and when necessary, ultimately are delivered the justice they deserve.

Being an advocate for issues (and people) that can be overlooked because they're not always the issues that capture headlines - or are topics that people often turn a blind eye to - is one of the reasons I got into public service. And one of the reasons I decided to run for the U.S. Senate. An agenda I have remained committed to, and work I have continued, in my four years as a senator. Being a strong voice for the most vulnerable among us is important to me.

And now, as we partner with our new administration to restore the soul of our nation, I will continue using my seat at the table to champion our shared values. But I won this seat by just two points in 2016 - and that was because of the strength of this grassroots team that helped push me over the top. So as we dive into this new challenge, I hope that I can count on you again to have my back during this tough road ahead.

I will not stop fighting for what I think is right. I will not stop fighting to ensure diverse voices, representing diverse communities like mine, are heard. And I will not stop fighting for America's women, families and children. But I need to know you're by my side in this important work. My team set a goal to raise $30,000 by midnight tonight so we can hit the ground running, but we're on track to fall behind our goal and running out of time.

John, I'm counting on you to be one of the first grassroots supporters to give now and help me kick off my reelect campaign. Will you pitch in $5 or more right now to help me defend Nevada's seat and the Senate majority for Democrats?
