While Texas Senator Ted Cruz was off vacationing in Cancun, Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez organized her supporters to raise over $5 million to help Texas rebuild after deadly winter storms devastated the state.

Working alongside Texas congresswomen Sylvia Garcia and Sheila Jackson Lee, AOC demonstrated what true leadership looks like by mobilizing the American people around hope and using her power to uplift entire communities.

But that's not what Republicans see. Conservative news outlets have been quick to accuse AOC of “just trying to turn Texas blue.” They've mocked her efforts to selflessly help a state so removed from her own district. And the GOP continues to attack the Green New Deal.

This isn't the first time the GOP has mocked Rep. Ocasio-Cortez for simply doing her job and caring about the American people -- but we refuse to let Republicans control the narrative around the people's champion any longer.
