A Just Transition to 100% Renewables in New York Wednesday, February 24th at 7PM

Join us for an Online Forum on "A Just Transition to 100% Renewables in New York" featuring New York Senator Pete Harckham, Peekskill Councilmember Vanessa Agudelo, Courtney Williams of Safe Energy Rights Group, Carlos Garcia of NYC Environmental Justice Alliance, Aneta Voronkova of Pratt NYPIRG, and moderator Renee Vogelsang, Campaign Manager for Beyond Indian Point. Learn how we will transition to 100% renewables in a way that supports our communities, workers, and the neighborhoods that are most at risk from dirty energy. Hear about exciting new renewable energy projects, initiatives, and upcoming legislation.

The Forum is co-sponsored by Beyond Indian Point, Alliance for a Green Economy, Frack Action, Riverkeeper, NIRS, Food & Water Watch, NYPIRG, Safe Energy Rights Group (SEnRG), Resist Spectra, and NYC Environmental Justice Alliance.

And we ask that you take a moment in the coming days to familiarize yourself with the proposed transfer of the Indian Point nuclear plant and the associated decommissioning trust fund to a joint venture of Holtec International and SNC-Lavalin (henceforth Holtec). Many organizations that follow the nuclear industry have found very good reason to believe Holtec is unfit to manage Indian Point and the trust fund. Holtec has no experience decommissioning nuclear power plants and is likely to cut corners to maximize its profits, as shown by its checkered history. Please take a look at the evidence, share it with your networks, and submit your online comments to the Public Service Commission. This may be our final chance to tell the PSC to DENY this transfer and protect New York. The deadline to submit your comment is Friday, February 26.

We hope you'll join us for the Just Transition to 100% Renewables forum this evening at 7pm!

Thank you for your interest and efforts in helping New York transition to renewables,
