A message from City Council Deputy Leader, Cllr Sally Longford:
Two new vaccination clinics are opening up this week further increasing options in the city for people who are currently eligible to be vaccinated. A vaccination clinic at the AlQuba Mosque-FiveWays Centre in Sherwood opened on Monday and a second vaccination clinic will be set up at the As-Shifa Mosque (part of the Karimia Institute) in Bobbers Mill next week. I?d like to say thank you to the mosque leaders for making their facilities available to their local communities.
Anyone eligible can be vaccinated at these clinics by registering an account on Swiftqueue and then booking via the links below or calling the booking line 0115 883 4640 between 8am-8pm (Mon-Fri) or 9am- 5pm (Sat-Sun).
We are supporting our local NHS partners, who are leading on the rollout of the vaccine in the city, to promote uptake to ensure the city is well protected from this virus. More people are now being vaccinated against Covid-19, which is really encouraging.

Spring cleaning is underway!
As the weather improves, our wonderful Clean Champions are getting out and about in the city and doing a fantastic job of removing litter as well as being our eyes on the ground and helping our Street Scene teams by reporting wider littering issues. To date, we have over 1,500 adult Clean Champions and over 500 junior members with hundreds of bags of rubbish already collected. We are working with local businesses too, encouraging them to keep their shop fronts pristine so the whole neighbourhood can be proud, and look forward to visiting.
If you are passionate about your local area and want to help by keeping it clean and tidy, or perhaps you want to make a safe space for local wildlife to thrive, why not get involved?
When you sign up, you will receive everything you need to do a litter pick. The pack contains gloves, a hi-vis tabard, purple bin bags and of course - a litter picker.
You can pick litter anywhere within the city boundary, either on your own or with others. Many volunteers like to work in groups.?The best way to get in touch with other Clean Champions is via the project?s Facebook page. You can sign up by filling out a simple form. We look forward to welcoming you to the scheme!

International Woman?s Day
International Women's Day is a global day celebrating the social, economic, cultural and political achievements of women. The day also marks a call to action for accelerating gender parity.
I am really pleased that once again Nottingham is celebrating this important day, which takes place on 8 March. The theme this year is Choose To Challenge, which challenges us to call out gender bias and inequality when we see it.
The Council House is proudly displaying a banner to draw attention to the day and we are putting on a series of virtual events with partners from across the city ? find out more at? www.IWDnottingham.com. You can also promote any events you are organising on this website too.
Local women are being asked to take part in the campaign and send a short video clip of themselves answering a few questions on persevering through the pandemic, and challenging stereotypes and stigma. Women of Nottingham we need your help!

Census Day is Sunday 21 March
On 21st March everyone in the country will be asked to complete the Census. This is a survey that happens every ten years to collect data on households in England and Wales. Census data is used to provide the services we all need, including transport, education and healthcare.
Valuable insights can be taken from the data to show how the country and our city is changing and to predict how they may change in the future. For the council this gives a crucial insight to local people, households and communities. This helps the politicians and officers at the council to better plan services to ensure they are best placed to meet the needs of the city.
Census population statistics also have a direct bearing on the Government support that local authorities receive to fund public services.
Taking part is so important - you?ll be helping make sure you and your community get the services needed now and in the future.
