Senator Ron Johnson has once again demonstrated that he is out of touch.

Recently, Johnson declared his opposition to providing additional COVID relief for struggling Americans. Why? Johnson claimed that people had “excess savings” ready to spend and didn’t want to “overheat our economy.”

The reality? Americans don’t have “excess savings.” Instead, many live paycheck-to-paycheck and find themselves even more at risk during this pandemic.

We keep waiting for elected officials like Ron Johnson to do the right thing. It’s just not going to happen.

Republicans like Johnson show us time and again that they are out for themselves. It’s up to us to elect progressives who will work for us all.

Ron Johnson is up for reelection next year, and we have a chance to expand our majority in the Senate and flip this seat blue.
