We need police accountability now
Tell your U.S. Rep: Pass the George Floyd Justice in Policing Act
John–
Police violence is gun violence.
That's why we're calling on the House of Representatives to pass the George Floyd Justice in Policing Act, a bill we expect to be on the House floor soon. It's a long overdue piece of legislation that will prohibit excessive force, ban the type of chokehold that killed George Floyd, mandate body cameras, publish national information on police misconduct, and make it easier to hold law enforcement accountable when they kill civilians.
John, our country urgently needs this bill to become law. Tell your U.S. Representative: Pass the George Floyd Justice in Policing Act.
Every year, police shoot and kill more than 1,000 people in America, and Black people are the victims at a disproportionate rate. And while the federal government only has so much control over state and local police, this legislation is a step toward creating an America where Black lives matter and Black people receive justice.
Send a message to your U.S. Representative today: Pass the George Floyd Justice in Policing Act.
Last year, over 100,000 supporters of our movement sent their members of Congress a message to demand they pass the George Floyd Justice in Policing Act. With a new administration in the White House and a Gun Sense Majority in the U.S. Senate, we know that with your help, we can make this bill become law.
Tell your U.S. Representative: Pass the George Floyd Justice in Policing Act now.
Thank you for being a part of this movement.
