John,

An expectant mother in Ecuador was shocked to learn that her baby's father secretly had another family.

Devastated by the news, the mom was about to swallow the abortion pill, but then she hesitated.

As thoughts swirled in her head, she turned on the radio...

...and heard an interview with the local 40 Days for Life leader.

"The campaign leader was on-air talking about real help for a crisis pregnancy," said 40 Days for Life Latin American Affairs Coordinator Lourdes Varela. "The girl was shocked."

The interview provided a spark of hope to the mother, who texted the 40 Days for Life leader asking for help.

The local campaign team immediately connected her with professional support and spiritual guidance--all while praying for her fervently.

The mom chose life and is now arranging to meet with the 40 Days for Life team that saved her baby--all through a simple radio interview!

Indianapolis, Indiana

Severe weather forced the Indianapolis campaign to postpone its kickoff rally.

"It is so good to see you all standing for life today," said a smiling young woman, who happened upon the rescheduled event. "I chose to have my baby and do an open adoption. I'm proud to be part of the pro-life generation. I'm happy how it turned out for me and my baby."

West Covina, California

Antonio and his family have been praying for an end to abortion for years.

"I recently came across some very similar photos of my son, but with a few years between them," Antonio said.

Antonio's little boy is grown up...but still praying for an end to abortion.

"I thank God for allowing me to tell my kids about the importance of defending what is right and just," Antonio continued. "As a father, I'm proud to see my children growing up as defenders of life."

Jesus said: “A man was going down from Jerusalem to Jericho, when he fell into the hands of robbers. They stripped him of his clothes, beat him and went away, leaving him half dead. A priest happened to be going down the same road, and when he saw the man, he passed by on the other side. So, too, a Levite, when he came to the place and saw him, passed by on the other side. But a Samaritan, as he traveled, came where the man was; and when he saw him, he took pity on him.

—Luke 10:30-34

Father, we are moved by the lesson of the Good Samaritan, who allowed compassion to influence him more than fear. Give us the same heart. Grant that we may never count the cost of standing up and speaking out for the unborn.
