Republican congresswoman Lauren Boebert recently claimed that “the Democrat party is the greatest threat America faces.”
That is a bold and baseless claim from the same Trump loyalist who voted to overturn the 2020 election results, provided tours of the Capitol the day before the January 6 insurrection, and later voted against impeaching the man who inspired a mob of white supremacists to attack her colleagues.
Boebert, a self-proclaimed fighter of “liberal lunatics” is among the worst of the GOP's right-wing candidates, but thankfully she already has a 2022 opponent in Kerry Donovan, a Colorado rancher and state senator who is hoping to unseat Boebert, who won by less than six points, come next year.
Donovan's message to Boebert is that “real toughness isn't chasing headlines or promoting baseless conspiracies...real toughness is getting things done for other people.” And that's exactly what she aims to do with priorities like affordable health care and criminal justice reform on her docket.
We want to help Kerry Donovan win her race and end Boebert's far-right agenda in our legislature. We want to ensure that other women like her who are prepared to stand against the wave of extremism threatening us all have the resources they need to make it to Washington.
But while Republicans are raising millions with their inflammatory rhetoric, our grassroots donations have taken a dive.
