Dear Friend --

Long Beach is turning a corner. We’ve made strong investments in our vaccination process, prioritized teachers, seniors and food workers – and are showing meaningful progress in all areas.

I’m proud to share that we’ve now vaccinated 58% of seniors 65 and older in Long Beach. And we will be vaccinating thousands more this week from our VaxLB site <[link removed]>.

This is an important milestone, and affirmation that our process is working. Soon, our Health Department will be taking our vaccination clinics on the road and meeting seniors who are unable to travel where they're at.

More data on senior vaccinations and other data points will become available on our city’s website later this week when we launch our new data dashboard. This new dashboard will provide the public with real-time vaccine data and demographic information.

I want to thank the hard-working team at the health department for their work in vaccinating Long Beach. In particular, I’d like to recognize the National Guard for their support of our city. This is a community-wide effort, and they have been an amazing part of the work.

Thank you and stay safe,

Mayor Robert Garcia
