AFGE Activist,
We are writing you with an important update about our upcoming National Convention. Due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, the AFGE National Executive Council (NEC) has voted to postpone the National Convention until June of 2022.
This wasn’t an easy decision. Many of you shared strong opinions about the matter one way or the other. Through two months of deliberations among the NEC, numerous calls with Local and Council leaders, a survey of AFGE Council and Local leaders, and careful consideration of the health, safety, and cost factors involved, the NEC made the difficult choice to postpone during an open meeting last week.
Now we must all move forward – safely, and in unity – to go about the business of our Federation. We look forward to seeing you at the 42nd National Convention in June of 2022.
In Solidarity,
AFGE
