With history increasingly being taught according to ideology rather than factual accuracy, many people may not know about the unsung heroes in our country’s heritage – and that many of them were black Americans.
In 2020, David Barton and Tim Barton joined Andrew Wommack for a series of interviews in honor of Black History Month ([link removed]) . They discuss how God called black people throughout American history to shape culture, religion, politics, and every area of society.

“I’m an American, and black folks are Americans too,” says David. “And they’re my heroes.”
The Bartons’ organization, WallBuilders, is “dedicated to presenting America’s forgotten history and heroes, with an emphasis on the moral, religious, and constitutional foundation on which America was built – a foundation which, in recent years, has been seriously attacked and undermined.”
** Bringing Facts to Light
------------------------------------------------------------
The Bartons draw upon their extensive collection of documents to illustrate how much of America’s history is hidden behind a wall of misinformation. Black Americans were war heroes, preachers, teachers, writers, poets, and public officials throughout the nation’s history. The fact that many of these heroes were devout Christians and served God faithfully has also been lost, especially in the face of woke leftist ideology that dominates much of modern education.
Through these videos, you’ll learn:
* A former slave is pictured in the famous painting “Washington Crossing the Delaware.”
* A regiment of black soldiers beat a larger force of Hessian troops during the Revolution.
* Indiana was nicknamed the “Hoosier State” because of a black evangelist.
* After the Civil War, former slaves won hundreds of legislature seats across the South as Republicans.
* Many stories about black heroes were eliminated from American history by President Woodrow Wilson.
“History is a lot more diverse than we realize,” says Tim. “It’s just that we don’t know the stories and the diversity of our history.”
