Some of the election bills being pushed by Republicans would end weekend early voting, end no-excuse absentee voting, require multiple forms of ID to vote, restrict the number of early voting locations, and would make it more difficult to register new voters.

Democrats flipped Georgia and the Senate blue by razor-thin margins thanks to the tireless efforts of Stacey Abrams and local organizers to register nearly one million voters and record turnout, primarily among Black voters.

As a result, Republicans are trying to make it more difficult for Stacey and affiliated groups to register voters with one legal scholar arguing that these bills “will disproportionately fall on communities of color and other historically disenfranchised groups.”
