John,

I want to tell you a story about why defending the Democratic Senate majority is so important, but first will you make a contribution of any amount to power our work?

After President Obama was elected in 2008, Democrats controlled the White House, the Senate, and the House of Representatives. We were able to pass the Affordable Care Act, make major changes to student loan programs, and start to level the playing field for families across the country.

Shortly after, we saw a tremendous amount of energy and money from the Republicans and other far-right groups. They capitalized on the moment to quickly chip away at our Democratic majorities, weakening our Senate majority and taking back the House and state legislatures all across the country.

Then in 2014, Democrats lost the Senate, and with it our chance to continue building on the incredible progress we made in years prior.

I remember how it felt that day to see our candidates fall one by one to radical right-wing extremists — and to think about what losing the Senate would mean for millions of Americans hanging on by a thread.

We cannot let that happen again.

Defend the Senate’s sole purpose is to ensure Mitch McConnell and the Republican Party aren’t able to hijack the Senate once again.

We’ve seen what Republicans are capable of when they’re in power, and we cannot allow the Biden administration to face the same unprecedented obstruction that President Obama saw in the final two years of his presidency.

Please, if you’re able, make a donation to Defend the Senate to power our work of protecting our fragile Democratic Senate majority. We cannot go back to how it was in 2014.

John, thanks for all that you do,
