Hi John, In 2020, we saw historic voter turnout despite a global pandemic and voter suppression efforts intended to stop voters from casting their ballots in a safe and accessible way. The hard work done by organizers, volunteers, community leaders, and so many of YOU is what made history last year -- but we can’t stop now. Voter suppression is still running rampant in states across the country. Since January, 33 states have introduced over 165 bills to restrict access to the ballot box for millions of people. Here’s one thing we can do about it right now: In just a few days, the House of Representatives will be voting on new legislation called the For the People Act intended to strengthen our democracy by enacting common sense voting reforms that would expand voting rights. If enacted, it would be the most significant voting rights and democracy reform in more than half a century. What exactly would the For the People Act do for voters? Now this is where you come in. Call your representative now and urge them to support the For the People Act. Hearing from constituents is one of the most important ways that Members of Congress learn how those they represent want them to vote on legislation and it can make a real difference on the outcome. By using our call tool, we’ll connect you to your Member of Congress (don’t worry, we will help you find them!) and provide you with a script to use when you reach their office. For far too long, voter suppression has been a shameful reality in our country. The ability for everyone to meaningfully participate in our democracy and the need for legislative action is urgent -- and we need to ensure that the House of Representatives passes the For the People Act. Help us make this a reality and call your representative now >> weall.vote/forthepeople Thanks for joining us in this fight, Laura Laura Miller
