🕛 24-Hour Challenge: Give by midnight tonight and help refugees, displaced families and vulnerable people around the world facing winter weather and other crises ▸ | Make my matching gift |

My name is Max Baldwin. As Northwest Syria Area Director for Mercy Corps, I know this winter has been brutal for our Syrian team members and the families they serve. Wind, rain and freezing temperatures — along with soaring food prices and rising COVID-19 cases — are all compounding the challenges displaced Syrians face. Would you consider giving help and hope to families in Syria and around the globe with your first-time gift today? Your gift today can help us go twice as far, thanks to a generous group of Mercy Corps supporters who have contributed to our Matching Gift Challenge Fund to encourage people like you to match their gifts, up to $70,000. We’ve set a goal to raise these crucial funds by midnight tonight: Make your matching gift now and help rush support to families who need it most.
24-HOUR CHALLENGE: GIVE NOW
Last month, freezing temperatures, heavy rain and wind in Northwest Syria forced more than 24,000 displaced people to abandon their shelters after heavy flooding. Our teams and community partners are helping people salvage what they can and providing essential supplies.
A mother keeps water and snow away from her tent in a camp in Northwest Syria, where she lives with her husband and children.
The slow and steady uptick in violence through the autumn of last year forced families across Idlib to flee and return repeatedly with no abatement. There is no fixed, permanent safe place for those in this region. The winter rains and cold on top of all they’ve lost makes every aspect of life harder. Since the start of the conflict in Syria 10 years ago, Mercy Corps partners, communities we work with and donors like you have been committed to reaching families with lifesaving and life-sustaining support, including food, protection, shelter, clean water and hygiene supplies — and we remain committed today. And Syria is just one of more than 40 countries around the world where our teams are battling challenges like hunger, disease and lack of shelter:
Thank you, Max Baldwin Northwest Syria Area Director for Mercy Corps |
