Tell Congress:
"We have a once in a lifetime opportunity to improve the lives and futures of millions of U.S. children and cut childhood poverty in half."

John,
Millions of families are struggling to make ends meet during this pandemic recession. That means millions more children are living near or below the poverty line and more parents are being forced to decide between putting food on the table, paying heat, water and electricity bills, or keeping a roof over their heads.
We are one year into this painful pandemic. And we can't let millions of families continue to fall through the cracks.
The U.S. House will vote later this week on a comprehensive pandemic relief bill. Write to your members of Congress today. Tell them we must not let this once in a lifetime opportunity to cut childhood poverty in half pass us by.
Together, with our coalition partners we’re uniting our voices to demand Congress expand the Child Tax Credit and Earned Income Tax Credit to help millions of people throughout our country. And with the help of supporters like you, John, we've already sent 60,000 letters to members of Congress, urging them to address childhood poverty and poverty of low-income adults.
We can't let up!
We need Congress to act now to lift millions of people out of poverty and prevent millions more from falling through the cracks. Click here to send a letter to your U.S. Senators and Representative today.
This legislation represents a once in a lifetime opportunity to lift millions of children and families out of poverty. Among the over 4 million children that the Child Tax Credit expansion would lift above the poverty line, some 1.2 million are Black, 1.7 million are Latino, 148,000 are Asian American, and 887,000 are white.
This essential legislation would also help 17 million of the poorest adults without dependent children who are often frontline workers―cashiers, food preparers, and home health aides―who either now don’t qualify at all for this tax credit or get so little that the taxes they pay can push them deeper into poverty.
Write to your U.S. Senators and Representative and demand Congress act swiftly to help U.S. families that are struggling during this terrible pandemic.
Thank you for all you do to demand accountability from our political leaders and to fight for the needs of the vulnerable, the sick and the poor.
