Dear John,
This week began with the good news that the Scottish Borders had the lowest mainland rate of Covid-19 in the UK. This is fantastic news, and is testament to the sacrifices that people are making to help suppress the virus. My thanks go to everyone who has struggled through this last year and managed to stick to the rules. It has not been easy!
You may also have heard about the new lockdown easing plans released today by the First Minister. You can find out what this means for you and your family on my Facebook post.
Sadly, the plans only cover the next eight weeks or so, despite it being billed as a route out of lockdown. I know this will be galling for businesses who are trying to plan to reopen, couples trying to plan weddings, and individuals wanting to know they will get back to work.
Most of all, I know that people are anxious to visit their families and friends, and hug their loved ones for the first time in over a year.
Obviously, we don't know what the virus will look like in the months ahead. But I think people need to be given guidance to allow them to plan, even if that needs to be tweaked at a later date.
As ever, I am here to help. If I can be of any assistance to you with a Covid-19 matter, or any other issue, then I would be happy to assist.
Kind regards.
Yours sincerely,
John
