This Black History Month, let’s acknowledge both the pioneers and the everyday folks who have been impacted by our country’s policies.

Friend,

As we draw towards the end of Black History Month, we would be remiss if we didn’t also acknowledge some of the startling statistics regarding race and poverty in America. That’s why we’re trying to raise $2,500 TODAY to fight for equality and end hunger>>> ([link removed])

Throughout our 37 year history, it has always been abundantly clear that structural racism is one of the top causes of hunger in the United States.
* At 18.8%, Black people face poverty rates that are more than DOUBLE those who are white. Will you give a gift of $36 today to support our fight for anti-poverty legislation? ([link removed])
* Black communities are far more likely to live in food deserts and face malnutrition, correlating to higher rates of diabetes, heart disease, COVID-19 infection and death. Will you help us combat this bilateral food and health crisis with a $40 gift today? ([link removed])
* Black households face food insecurity at double the rate of white households. Will you donate $50 towards our benefits access work? ([link removed])

You cannot separate economic justice and food justice from racial justice. It is on all of us to build an America of true opportunity and equality. And that starts with doing the work to understand all aspects of our history -- both the Black pioneers AND the individuals who make up these shocking statistics.

Join us on this journey --and help us hit our $2500 goal today. ([link removed])

Sincerely,
Joel Berg
