While many campaign schools cost money, we’re making the 2021 Rooted in Community Campaign School completely free to ensure it’s accessible to everyone who wants to serve in public office. This is how we increase representation in government to include candidates with the life experience who truly understand the people they serve.

That’s why we’re inviting 15 progressive candidates for local and state office to participate in a free campaign school to center the voices of the most marginalized. And we're going to launch next week!

We’re focused on creating a representative government that includes Black, Indigenous, and other people of color serving in elected office.

Most campaign schools cost money for those who want to run for office―which excludes low-income and working people who want to serve. That’s why, through my Rooted in Community Leadership PAC, we will make this intensive four-week training completely free.

Donate today to help us fully fund the 2021 Rooted in Community Campaign School and create a representative government that works for all of us.

This free campaign school will cost $22,500 to run―to hire local experts (including grassroots partners) in communications, field work, fundraising, and campaign finance to lead trainings for our 15 candidates.

Ever since I served in Michigan's state legislature, I've been working to open the door for more women of color, more Muslim women, and more people from underrepresented communities to serve in office. Because we often have the life experience to truly understand and serve the people we represent.

My time in Congress has shown me how urgently we must build the bench of people serving in office. So many elected officials are out of touch with the reality of everyday people who are struggling to pay their bills and get by. We need more folks in office who understand the scope of the problems we must address, and who are ready to push for bold change.

That’s why we’ve been inviting progressive candidates who are ready to change the political landscape and WIN.
