President Biden is already hard at work clearing Donald Trump's appointees out of the Justice Department.
Just last week, the Biden administration formally asked every remaining Trump appointee to resign, ensuring that the cases taken up by Merrick Garland's DOJ will actually be dealt with fairly and with sound judgment.
Here's the thing -- we absolutely need every single Trump loyalist out of the federal government as soon as possible. Any one remaining Trump loyalist will totally derail the progress we've fought so hard for -- and so far, they're not leaving. Their influence will make it impossible for our country to climb out of the muck and mire of the Trump years. We have the power to stop them by confirming Merrick Garland to root them out.
But Senate Republicans are trying to stop Biden and Garland from doing just that. McConnell and his obstructionist goons have roadblocked him every step of the way -- and they're not slowing down.
We're doing everything we can to rid this country of the stains of Trumpism, but we're more than $25,000 short of where we need to be for our messaging and candidate recruitment budget. We have the know-how and expertise to end Trump's influence and get rid of his remaining appointees, but we're running out of time (Garland's first hearing was yesterday!) and money we need to do it.
