Going up against the Chicago machine and a political dynasty that had held this seat for nearly 40 years was no easy feat -- especially because we pledged from day one that our campaign wasn’t going to take a dollar from corporate PACs or lobbyists.

It was a David and Goliath kind of fight -- but thankfully, I had more than just a pebble and a slingshot on my side.

I had an army of community groups, local unions, and thousands of volunteers behind me working day in and day out to write postcards, call and text voters, and organize in every corner of IL-03.

And of course, I had folks like YOU who stepped up to give what they could to power our grassroots team.
