We’ve still got today and tomorrow to make up the difference Indivisibles,
Wow! Since we sent this message on Thursday, more than 700 of you have made donations to help us cover our unexpected expenses -- and we’ve raised more than $17,000! Thank you, so much. We’re not exaggerating when we say we literally could not do this work without you.
We’re so close to hitting our goal -- can you chip in $10 right now to get us all the way there and make sure we’re always ready for whatever this administration throws at us?
This last week has shown us that breaking news can happen anytime, but we’re continually inspired by how many Indivisibles drop everything and answer the call (or the text 🙂) when that happens. Thank you for your dedication and your action.
In solidarity, Indivisible Team

Indivisibles,
What a week, right? After TWO YEARS of buildup, the dam finally broke on impeachment. This is, of course, exciting news, but it’s also put us in a bit of a bind that we’re hoping you can help with.
Here’s the deal: text messages are one of the most important tools in our toolkit. They’re fast, and they reach Indivisibles wherever you are. That’s why, on Tuesday, when we learned that House Democrats were meeting about impeachment, we immediately sent out a text message with resources to call members of Congress in support. It worked -- in just over 4 hours, more than 12,000 of you called your representatives to demand impeachment, and later that evening, Nancy Pelosi announced the House will move forward with an official inquiry.
But... all the breaking news means we sent a lot more messages than usual: this month, we’ve sent over one million texts, almost triple what we send in a normal month. And that comes with a cost: we’re $22,000 past our budget on texts.
When we sent the messages, we knew we were exceeding our budget and that we’d have to pay more. It was too important to even consider not sending those calls to action. But now, we need to figure out how to shift resources to cover that budget, and we need to do it by the end of the month to keep our budget balanced. Which is why we’re reaching out:
Please, chip in as little or as much as you can to fund rapid response like these text messages, and all of Indivisible Project’s crucial work.

Tuesday’s text and your thousands of calls are the kind of rapid response action that we need, especially under this administration where new developments can come to light on a dime. But we can’t pull it off without funding for communications tools. And what makes it possible to turn around big, change-making actions like this on such short notice is having the flexibility and agility to make it happen. Part of that means having a budget that can support those actions -- if we’re constantly working to make up a shortfall, we might not always have the capacity to drop everything and go all out the way we did earlier this week.
This ask is particularly urgent right now because the end of the fiscal quarter is in less than a week. We plan our budget in quarters, which means that right now we don’t have much leeway to close the gap.
We’re not going to leave this fight. Our democracy, our national security, and our election security are all at stake, and we know that the biggest power we have is in thousands of people putting relentless pressure on our representatives. But we know just as well that it isn’t going to be the last fight we face, and we need to be ready to face them all when they come up. Please: pitch in $10 right now, before the end of the quarter, to make sure Indivisible Project can respond whenever the news breaks.
A lot of things fell into place this week, and many of them were made possible by the hard work of Indivisibles like you. Thank you for fueling our movement.

P.S. -- A question we get a lot when we send emails about text messages is if we can just pay for an unlimited plan, the way many of us do for our personal cell phones. We wish! To send the kinds of messages we do, we need a different kind of system, which offers tools like “reply CALL to connect your member of Congress,” and where we can carefully target messages to the right people in the right congressional districts. And those systems are priced very differently from individual cell phone plans! Please, if you can, click here and help us fund systems like this and all of our work!
