You would think that with millions of his residents facing power losses, no running water, food shortages, and medical emergencies, Texas Governor Greg Abbott would be hard at work fixing the disasters unfolding under his watch.
Instead, the Republican went on Fox News to blame solar and wind power for causing the greatest energy crisis his state has ever seen.
“This shows how the Green New Deal would be a deadly deal for the United States of America,” he said.
But Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez was having none of it, correctly pointing out that the state's natural gas dependence and poor management is truly to blame.
“Gov. Abbott needs to get off TV pointing fingers & start helping people,” she tweeted. “After that, he needs to read a book about his state's own energy supply.”
